³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ Corporation

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ Recognized as 2022 Steel Sustainability Champion

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ announced today that it has been named a 2022 Steel Sustainability Champion by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) in recognition of the company’s leadership in helping to create greater sustainability in the steel industry and society.

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ has been developing innovative technologies to mitigate environmental impact and published the JFE Group Environmental Vision for 2050. The company informs stakeholders about its sustainability policies and achievements across a range of areas, including environment, health and safety, through publications such as the JFE Group CSR Report 2021. Recognition of these efforts led to the company being selected as a 2022 Steel Sustainability Champion for the second consecutive years.

To ensure sustainability, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to address wider challenges in the areas such as environment, society and governance and to respond to the opportunities and challenges. In 2016, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ identified core CSR issues, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and continually updated them. In 2021, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ conducted a thorough review of the issues of materiality and incorporated also the economic perspectives.

Looking ahead, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ plans to continue contributing to collective efforts to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by strengthening the company’s CSR management practices and working to help resolve environmental and other issues in society through its business.
