JGreeX JGreeX Green Steel Selected for Use in Resource-recycling Containers

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ Corporation announced today that JGreeX green-steel wire rod has been selected to produce the wire handles of "LOOPOX" containers (photo) designed for storing and transporting recycled resources. This will be the first use of JGreeX in the bar and wire rod sector.

The handles will be processed by Suzutoyo Seiko Co., Ltd., a partner of Sumitomo Corporation Global Metals Co., Ltd., and they will be integrated with the LOOPOX containers by Sato Seisakusho Co., Ltd. The containers, are produced with 100% recycled plastic, are made by Sato Seisakusho and Shinto Tsushin Co, Ltd.

The use of JGreeX for the handles will enable Sato Seisakusho and Shinto Tsushin to further minimize CO2 emissions associated with these environmentally friendly resource-recycling containers, which the two companies aim to commercialize.

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ uses the mass-balance approach to allocate emission reductions to specific JGreeX green-steel products. In accordance with Japan Iron and Steel Federation guidelines, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ allocates the environmental value of CO2 emission reductions achieved across an entire manufacturing process to specific steel products, which are then considered to have low CO2 emission intensity.

Going forward, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ͵ÅÄ will continue contributing to the decarbonization of global society by expanding its range of eco-minded products that lead to reduced CO2 emissions, including JGreeX, and by working with customers to manufacture and sell environmentally friendly products.
